Mold release and cleanup

When the solidification and cooling period is over, the casting is released from the mold, the sand and frame are saved and recycled for future mold development. Each piece undergoes a precisely determined cooling period to insure that its physical properties are consistent with the client’s specifications.

The piece is then freed of its risers and feed runners, shot-blasted and cleaned up.
If required, the casting can then undergo any of these:
